Education & Support

 

In the field of education and research, São Luiz counts on an Education Center that offers courses, symposiums and conferences with international and national specialists, whether or not of its clinical staff, in order to update staff expertise. The activities of the Education Center aim at the technical and scientific development of physicians and nurses, nutritionists, psychologists and other employees of the institution.

With head offices at the Education Center, the São Luiz’s Committee of Ethics in Research (CEP) is an organ of a consulting, deliberation and educational nature, which has as its objective to authorize, register and follow up all scientific research, bearing in mind the ethical and legal aspects. It has a registry which was approved by the Commission on Ethic in Research (Conep), an organ associated to the Ministry of Health.

São Luiz also has a Nursing Ethics Commission (CEE), the body representing the Nursing Regional Council (Coren) and performs educational, advisory and inspection functions in relation to professional ethics. It acts whenever ethical infringements or careless service occurs, taking the steps required to re-direct the teams. It was established in Itaim in 1996; the Morumbi branch started operating in 2001, only one year after the new unit was opened. CEE was created in compliance with Coren Resolution 172 / 94, which regulates the creation of the Nursing Ethics Commission in health institutions, and through decisions made at Coren Meeting, its 389th Regular General Meeting.

All of São Luiz’s investments in quality is aimed not only at the technology development, but mainly at human resources and the implementation of the Program of Continuous Education, besides improving the staff with recognized experts and members of the scientific community.

Continuous Education


Continuous Education is based on a philosophy which has professional qualification as its essence. In order to improve technical expertise of its employees, all teams are constantly trained: technical, scientific and administrative staffs. The evaluation and training of new employees, as well as the qualification of trainees, are also among its attributes.
